Who we are
We are a non-profit guild association, representing the best interests of its members from the utilities and communications sector, through the jointly work for the conception of public policies, best practices promotion and the production of useful information to support the sector´s sustainable growth and the decrease of social inequality, while promoting environmental care. The association was created on September 28 of 1995 and gathers the most relevant companies in sectors such as:

• Information and Communication Technologies – ICT and TV
Andesco was founded on September 28, 1995, by a group of companies from the utilities and communications sector, which foresaw, by the release of the 142 and 143 of 1994 law, the creation of dialogue opportunities for the utilities and communications development, under the official guidelines of a Rule of Law.
Andesco has been established as one of the most important associations in Colombia, gathering the main companies in the sectors such as Information and Communication Technologies – TIC and TV, Electrical Energy, Natural Gas, Cleaning and Waste Management, Water Supply and Sewage on the public, mixed and private division, with approximately 90% of population coverage on urban and rural areas in Colombia.

Our Association’s President
Camilo Sánchez Ortega
President of Andesco since September, 2018
Currently the President of Andesco is Mr. Camilo Sánchez Ortega, Economist from Javeriana Unniversity, Master in Governability and Democracy from Santo Tomás University, Specialist in High Management from Andes University, Graduate from Governance Program from Alberto Lleras Camargo Institute. He also accomplished mayors in Politics Analysis and Economy Law from Externado University.
Mr. Sánchez has experience in the public sector where he served as a Local Representative in Anapoima; Chamber Deputy for Cundinamarca; Senator; Minister of Housing, City and Territory; High Presidential Counsel for the Regions and Congressman. He also performed as CEO and CFO in private sectors companies and as a member of different management boards in Colombia. Since September 2018, he acts as President of the Utilities and Communications Association, Andesco, leading the sector´s strategy regarding electrical energy, natural gas, water and sewer, communications, TV, sustainability and environmental matters.
